31DC2013 Day 10

Yay!  Were into the double digits for the challenge!  It is day 10 and we are doing gradient nails today. A little while back when China Glaze came out with their Holographic collection I was not that attracted to it.  The holo is not that visible, its pretty subtle.  Then one day I was in my local Sally Beauty Supply and saw they were on sale and decided to get 2.  I got OMG A UFO and When Stars Collide.  I have been eagerly waiting to start using fall colors and felt like this was a great chance to!  I used the 2 China Glaze colors along with Julep Rebel.  When I saw that Julep had some holos, I honestly didn't think they would be as great as some of the indie brands.  I was wrong, Rebel is very holo and awesome!

31DC2013 Day 4

Green!  Todays challenge is green.  A while back I discovered that I apparently like green the most when it comes to nail polish, so I had many greens to choose from.  I really did not spend more than 1 minute thinking about what to do for todays nails, I instantly knew I wanted to do a dotted gradient mani.  This mani combines 2 of my favorite things: patterns and gradients!  I used Sinful Colors High Strung, Lime Crime Pastelchio, China Glaze Im With the Lifegaurd, and China Glaze In the Limelight.  For my white I used Zoya Purity for the fist time and think it was great!  I will say I am in the market for a new top coat though...as you can clearly see in my pinky and ring finger, I have these annoying air bubble looking spots from my topcoat...not good!  I will have to do some research, although I think I already know I am going to give HK Girl top coat a try.  4 days (3 for me) into the challenge and going strong!  Its not too late to join in if you are not already participating!

Easter Time!

Hello!  So, I have had an epiphany!  I have figured out the lighting for my photos, finally!  O yeah!  What does everyone have planned for this Easter weekend?  Me, I am just going to relax and then spend time with the family tomorrow and eat so good food!  Today I have a gradient with stamping.  It took me many tries to get the gradient colors worked out, first I tried to use a shimmery China Glaze color as the base color, but when I started stamping I kept getting a balding effect that could not be fixed...I then tried various things on my ruined nails, and finally decided to use Sally Hansen Jaded as a base coat and then sponge Jaded and Sinful Colors Tempest onto the nail.  I took some photos with just the gradient, and I must say I am super excited about how awesome these photos look!  Next, I stamped some easter goodies using BM302.  The bunny on my middle finger is a little smudged, but I like to think of him as one of those long hair bunnies!  :)  Happy Easter!
