31DC2013 Day 9

Good morning!  Today is rainbow nails!  I love rainbows.  It was hard for me to think of something, and I kept coming back to dots.  When I first got into nail polish, specifically indie polish, I fell in love with Gloss n' Sparkle Unicorn Droppings.  I wanted it so bad, but it is from Australia and Im from America.  Finally a few months ago I was able to snag it during a Llarowe restock.  I was soooo excited when it came in the mail but, Im going to be honest it was not what I expected.  The swatches online show it as this awesome white base with pretty rainbow color glitter.  Mine is grayish in color.  Its as if there is a bunch of dust in the bottle.  I don't like the idea of talking bad about a polish, especially one I love so much but it kinda bums me out.  You can see in the photos that it has a grayness to it, even with Zoya Purity as a base.  Oh well, it is what it is I suppose.  Moving on!  I did my dots with the idea of randomness, but as you can see I fell right into a bit of a pattern.  LOL.  I used Julep January, Julep Kaylen, Julep Lexie, L'Oreal Hyde Park, Maybelline Sapphire Siren, and OPI Funky Dunky.  O yeah!  I also got the lighting figured out on the camera!  Yippie!

Bundle Monster Peacock Clutch and Nails

Hello everyone, I know its been a while again, but I have been painting and photographing the whole time.  Honestly its taking me a while to adjust to managing my new job and writing posts.  Its nice to be back and to share what I have been up to!  Today is going to be a first for me.  I saw a while back on Bundle Monster's Facebook page that they were looking for people to do reviews on products.  I sent an email and was sent a lovely Clutch.  The exact title for it is Women's Rhinestone Peacock Clasp Velvet Evening Clutch Handbag.  I like to call it the Peacock Clutch, its a bit shorter.  :)  I did paint my nails for this clutch, and will get to them after I discuss the clutch!

First off I would like to say how impressed I was with the packaging of this clutch.  It was very well protected through its journey to me.  The clutch I am discussing today is a small velvet clutch with a peacock covered in rhinestones.  It comes in 6 different colors, I chose Boastful Beige which is a nice light tan color.  I liked the idea of a color that would go with anything.  The clutch is very soft, and the peacock part actually lifts up to let you inside.  It has plenty roomy for me, I always travel pretty light when going out.  I had my I.D. and debit card, a large rollerball perfume, lip stick, and my Iphone 5 all in there with more room to spare.  The clutch has three carrying options; no chain, long chain, short chain.  I chose no chain.  At first I did think it might be a little difficult to get my hand inside under the peacock, but once I did it a few times it was no problem to easily get in and out of the clutch.  Overall it is an awesome little clutch and it fetched many complements!  Now on to the matching nails!

I knew instantly that I wanted to do something inspired by the clutch with my nails.  Then I immediately thought of my Bundle Monster stamping plates!  I decided to pull 4 colors from the peacocks feathers to use on my nails, and then used BM-212 to stamp feathers on.  The colors I used were Color Club Get A Clue, Julep Annie, Julep January, Julep Mackenzie, and Maybeline Bold Gold.  I really love how well the polish colors match the peacock feather colors on the clutch.  This was my first big scale success with stamping.  I recently bought an XL sticky stamper and used it for the fist time yesterday.  After much trial, error, and almost tears, I finally got the right method for stamping.  I found that the swiper and stamper do not need as much pressure when contacting the image plate.  Over all I am excited with how well the stamping came out and am in love with my new Peacock clutch!

Whimsical Ideas by Pam: Seuss!

Ooooo!  I am so excited to share this polish with you today!  It is Whimsical Ideas by Pam: Seuss!  I have actually had this polish for a few months.  Every time I would go to pick my color to paint my nails, I would browse my shelves, see Seuss, admire it, and put it back.  It never felt like it was the right time to wear it.  I started seeing everyone wearing Seuss, and started thinking I needed to find a way to wear it and not blend in with everyone else.  Then it hit me!  I found my inspiration, I would do all my nails with Seuss, except my middle nail.  I would do that one as an accent nail; with solid red and a french tip of Seuss!  Its brilliant!  I love it!  I also love exclamation marks!  Hahaha!

To conserve my Seuss I used Sally Hansen Blinding Blue as my base color, followed by two coats of Seuss.  I love for my glitter polish to have a layered look.  The polish itself it awesome!  I love all the glitter, especially the tiny blue ones.   For the red I used Juelp January.  At first I tried to do the french tip without the silver strip, but as careful as I was, I could not keep the colors from bleeding together.  So, I got the idea to paint a piece of tape silver and cut out a little strip of it to make a clean straight line.  I really love it!  

Of all my polishes, I only own 13 Indie polishes from 3 makers.  11 of them are minis, and 2 are full size.  Those two full sizers would be my Whimsies, I have Seuss, as you can see, and I Love NY.  Trust me I want more!  Just the other night I was eyeballing Whimsical Ideas by Pam Peacock Park, and Magical Mystery Tour.  I think I will be getting those sooner than latter...hehehe!  There is no doubt that my Indie polish collection will continue to grow, but Whimsical Ideas by Pam Seuss and I Love NY will always have a special place in my heart as my first Indie purchases.   :)
